So I have been doing lots of cool things lately. Since I last blogged, I have attended two of the Art to Wear fashion show commitee meetings. I am on the pulicity/jurying commitee and I am super excited about that. Also, I attended the Cotton Inc. fashion show meeting. I was disappointed because I will be out of town when the show takes place, but I am hoping to participate next year. Another thing I went to recently was the New Student Cookout. The College of Textiles provided all freshman with lunch for the day. This was a great opportunity to meet new people and talk to some of my classmates rather than just sitting next to them during class. I enjoyed the hush puppies and the rolls.
The NCSU Modern Dance Company is also another exciting endeavor that has started to take off. It is certainly a big commitment, but I enjoy it. It allows me to relieve some of the stress that builds up from school work. I am currently in 2 student-lead pieces of work and 2 coreographer lead pieces. I am enjoying the experience of being a company member.

- I am currently a Freshman at the NCSU College of Textiles majoring in Fashion and Textile Management. I am orignally from Cary, NC and graduated from Athens Drive high school. With my free time, I enjoy participating in the NCSU Modern Dance Company. I also love to design and create clothing. My decision to come to the College of Textiles began during the summer after my junior year. I attended the Summer Textile Exploration Program and loved the experience. Everyone was so welcoming and I felt like I was important to them. After that, I applied to Centennial Scholarship program. I ended up making to the final round of interviews and then recieved the scholarship. I feel honored to be a Centennial and can't wait to take advantage of the opportunities the scholarship provides me.
